KOMOREBI CONSORT
The Komorebi Consort are an ensemble specialising in early-modern music and instruments.
Our team comprises instrumentalists, singers, and instrument-makers, most of whom were students at both of the Brussels conservatories.
Komorebi Consort began as an ambitious initiative for a production of J.S. Bach’s “Johannes-Passion” in the Notre-Dame au Sablon church, but it doesn't end there. We very much look forward to bringing you more music and ideas in the future – see you soon in Brussels!
About us
The word “komorebi” (木漏れ日)is a Japanese word that has no real equivalent in other languages. Quite literally, it denotes the glimmers of sunlight shining through the branches and leaves of trees. The general spirit of the word is that no brilliance is ever the same, and that there is a wealth of beauty in the infinite ways the trees can frame the sunlight.
We hope that our ensemble can shine in many different ways throughout our development, and that we can share this beauty with you.
