François-Emmanuel Douchy

François-Emmanuel Douchy is a versatile musician specializing in baroque and modern cello, as well as piano, viola da gamba and harpsichord. He completed studies with Martijn Vink and Jan Vermeulen at the Lemmens Institute in Leuven and with Andrzej Bauer at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, and he is currently pursuing a master’s degree in baroque cello under Kristin von der Goltz at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Frankfurt.

François-Emmanuel focuses on chamber music and solo repertoire, performing on both modern and historical instruments. He is a member of several ensembles, including the OLIV Cello Quartet, the Jan Petit Ensemble, the Camerata du Luxembourg and the Douchy-Vermeulen Duo, and is also regularly invited to perform with the Kuijken Kwartet, Audelia Trio, and the Marolles Ensemble. Additionally, he collaborates with renowned orchestras such as La Petite Bande and the Mahler Student Festival Orchestra. He has also refined his musicianship through masterclasses with acclaimed artists, including Pieter Wispelwey, Roel Dieltiens, Jakob Koranyi, Amy Norrington, Viola de Hoog, Philippe Graffin, Julien Libeer, and Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort.

Beyond his musical career, François-Emmanuel has pursued courses in philosophy at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, highlighting his versatility and passion for learning.
