VIOLIN
Marieke De Jonghe
In 2023, Marieke De Jonghe obtained her master's degree in classical violin performance at the KASK&Conservatorium School of Arts Gent in the class of Olga Zolotareva. She forms a duo with Japanese pianist Saya Endo, and together with violinist Mikhaïl Bezverkhni, she forms the Sint-Anna Duo.
Baroque music is a passion she has developed over the past few years. For baroque violin, she is a student of Ann Cnop at the conservatory of Mechelen, and since 2024, she is also a student of Sigiswald Kuijken. She regularly performs in baroque ensembles as La Petite Bande, Concert Royal Köln and I Capricorni.
In combination with her activities in music, she graduated in medicine at Ghent University in 2023. In 2019 she received the prize D.L. Clement from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences for this combination. In October this year, she starting working as a doctor in a general practice. Her broad interests also led her to take a course in philosophy at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
