BASSOON

Kensuke Taira

Kensuke is a multi-instrumentalist from Okinawa, Japan.

He plays the bass clarinet, the bassoon, the Contrabassoon and historical double reed instruments.

He obtained master degrees of the bass clarinet with Jun Guns, the bassoon with Francis Pollet and the Contrabassoon with Danny D’Haene and Filip Neyens at the Royal conservatoire Antwerp. He studies the baroque bassoon with Javier Zafra at Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.

In 2012 he received the scholarship "Oranjebeurs" granted by the Dutch Community Antwerp.

He works as a freelance musician with various orchestras, music theatres and chamber music groups in Belgium.
