Sophie Paeshuyse

Sophie Paeshuyse is a Belgian baroque violinist currently based in Brussels. She learned to play the violin at a young age following the Suzuki method and later on she continued her studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp with Guido de Neve. During this period, they got interested in historically informed performance practice and after obtaining their master in modern violin in 2022, she started her studies of historical violin in the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles. They are currently doing a master in the violin class of Mira Glodeanu and Benoît Douchy. Sophie’s not only passionate about the baroque repertoire, she also has a special interest in playing classical and romantic chamber music on period instruments and discovering unknown music, and they also love working closely with different art disciplines.
