Marieke De Jonghe

VIOLIN

In 2023, Marieke De Jonghe obtained her master's degree in classical violin performance at the KASK&Conservatorium School of Arts Gent in the class of Olga Zolotareva. She later specialised in chamber music at LUCA School of Arts and is a member of several chamber music groups. Together with violinist Mikhaïl Bezverkhni, she forms the Sint-Anna Duo.

Baroque music is a passion she has developed over the past few years. For baroque violin, she was a student of Ann Cnop at the conservatory of Mechelen and periodically, she follows lessons with Sigiswald Kuijken. She is a member of Kuijken Kwartet, Komorebi Consort, I Capricorni, and regularly performs in baroque ensembles as La Petite Bande, Iris Ensemble and Concert Royal Köln.

In combination with her activities in music, she graduated in medicine at Ghent University in 2023. In 2019, she received the prize D.L. Clement from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences for this combination. Her broad interests also led her to take a course in philosophy at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
